House Yields More Ground To The Terrorists

The US House has passed an extension on the Patriot Act which would make 14 provisions currently set to sunset permanent and extend two more for an additional ten years. I wouldn't be surprised if the Senate also approves this and then GWB signs it into law.

Here's a nice quote from the article:

"Periodically revisiting the Patriot Act is a good thing," said Rep. Martin Meehan, D-Massachusetts. "The Patriot Act was an effort to answer the most difficult question a democracy faces: How much freedom are we willing to give up to feel safe?"

The terrorists really are winning.
