Some minor site cleanup today. All 2001 news items are available under Recent News. Eventually, all the stuff from
2002 will fall off the main page and only be available there as well.
I've also added a badge to this page indicating my support for beunited.org.
In my last update, I mentioned that I am exploring the possibility of
implementing UnobtainiumNOS. This is an on-going project and will probably
never see the light of day, but I'm going to push forward. The current plan
is to fork OpenBeOS once it reaches R1. OpenBeOS will recreate BeOS R5,
which has many of the core features of Unobtainium. I did consider
GNU/Linux for it's robustness but I would have to make so many major changes
to both the OBOS and Linux kernels that I figure I would loose much of the
Linux robustness and still lack many of the other good features I would get
from OBOS.
Currently, it looks like OBOS is about a year away from R1. Until then, I
will work on developing Unobtainium's technologies and learning OBOS's code.
Any kind of release of Unobtainium is a long way off, probably just this
side of never. Please, don't get your hopes up and most certainly: don't
hold your breath.
